I think of home as the point where community, culture, and ecosystem intersect to create a space that fosters comfort, creativity, groundedness, and gratitude.

For myself and all beings, I wish a life of beauty—making beauty, appreciating beauty, and being beauty.

I am a writer, editor, and explorer living within earshot of barking California sea lions in Santa Cruz, CA, the unceded territory of the Awaswas-speaking Uypi Tribe. In my professional life, I collaborate with novice and veteran authors to craft their written works into powerful and effective narratives ready to be shared with the world. My personal writing focuses on relationships between people and their surroundings, human interactions with our non-human planetary companions, and the challenges of forging connection in an increasingly isolated world. You can check out some of my published essays at  www.bridgetalyons.com.

I’m also the Vice Chair of the Santa Cruz City Arts Commission and a committed visual arts dilettante; on any given day, I might be found messing around with screenprints, silver jewelry, mosaics, linoleum blocks, cyanotypes, or acrylics.

I’m thrilled to be supporting an innovative multidisciplinary art adventure that seeks to build bridges and address the challenges of our community in through open-hearted listening.
